Description
Miller 37-13.HH "Rare Variety" VF+/XF 1787 DBL Connecticut Colonial W-4185W-4185 variety (Whitman code), also traditionally known as an M.37-13.HH (traditional Miller identification) 1787 DBL Connecticut Colonial Copper Coin.
A choice example of a rare variety. Likely within the Condition Census for this variety that is estimated to have between 33 and 64 known examples to exist in all grades. The John J. Ford coin that sold for ,380 back in 2005 was graded as XF, but that coin had flaws.
This example of this very rare URS-7 (R6) variety displays a strong strike on a generally nice planchet. There are no post minting problems of any kind.
T
he surfaces are an attractive medium chocolate brown, smooth, and glossy.
The rims of this coin are nice & smooth with no problems.
This particular coin has a full & bold 1787 date, it has not been cleaned, it weights 127.0 grains, and is in VF+/XF condition.
This is an authentic & genuine 1787 Connecticut Colonial Copper that has excellent detail & great eye-appeal.
Whitman does not list any values or grade levels for this rare variety.
