    (W-4520 Whitman code), 1788 MBL (Mailed Bust Left) Connecticut Colonial Copper Coin.
    This URS-8 (R5) variety displays a strong strike on an interesting, but choice planchet. T
    he surfaces are an attractive medium brown, smooth, and glossy and this coin is in about VF+ condition (approaching XF in some areas). There is one straight planchet clip (as-made and as-minted), but there are no significant problems of any kind. This coin is a very nice example of this very rare variety. All devices & legends are bold, while the rims are nice & smooth.
    This particular coin has a bold & full 1788 date, it has not been cleaned, and it weights an unusually light 103.1 grains. In general, all 1788 dated Connecticut's are very scarce!
    This is an authentic & genuine 1788 Connecticut Colonial Copper that is in great condition (for this variety) & has great eye-appeal.
