    Maris 24-P "Narrow Shield" XF 1786 New Jersey Colonial Copper Coin W-4065
    Maris 24-P (Narrow Shield) variety
    (Whitman W-4965) 1786 New Jersey Copper Colonial Coin.
    Attractive surfaces that are a medium brown, smooth, & glossy with a number of old fully toned tiny pits on the obverse side, which look as though they may have been in the natural blank planchet before this coin was struck.
    All legends & devices are complete & bold including the obverse 1786 date, and
    nearly full vertical & horizontal lines are seen on the reverse shield
    .
    The 1786 date is about as strong & full as it gets for this particular variety.
    ex: Early American History Auctions from February 2000 lot number 810 (lot slip will be included).
    This coin is in about XF condition, it has not been cleaned, and it weights a rather hefty 161.5 grains.
