    Rare American Colonial coinage. 1739. British 1/2 penny. George II (OBV)/Britannia (REV). Large date. Copper. Excellent, historic coin. Coins from numerous countries, but especially England, were used during U.S. colonial period due to the lack of hard currency. This coin's distribution would surely have included Canada and the lower colonies of New England etc.
