British Maritime History Stamps First Day of Issue Portsmouth England 1982 LOT of 4
I am charged with selling some of my stepdad’s estate/collectibles for my mom. Save this store as a favorite as I will be listing bundles and singles for years to come, from games, political, sports, Hollywood and civil war to an immense world class collection of worlds fair and exposition pieces.
Here is a lot of 4 first day of issue envelopes from England.
The set is named “British Maritime Heritage” and features Henry the 8th, Lord Nelson, Admiral Blake, Lord Fisher, and Viscount Cunningham.
One envelope features all the seafarers (5 stamps) and the other three individually feature Henry VIII, Lord Nelson, and Admiral Blake with two stamps on each envelope (11 stamps total on 4 envelopes).
All are stamped “First Day of Issue Portsmouth 16 June 1982”. The backs of the envelopes all have a blurb regarding who is featured on the front. The envelopes were manufactured by Fleetwood of Cheyenne Wyoming. All 4 are in mint condition with no folds, fading, tears or spots. They have been meticulously contained in protective plastic for 40 years.
