Description
AUTHENTIC 1787 NEW JERSEY COPPER COIN: NICE FINE BOTH SIDES!A 28mm "small planchet" example with complete inscriptions "Nova Caesarea" on the Obverse
above a horsehead and plow, both well-defined, with the date 1787 in exergue, beneath, the "1" fairly
softened by age.
The reverse has a a nearly very fine shield, scarce for many of these coins, and the inscription is complete with a
wear spot affecting the upper quadrant of the coin and a few letters in "pluribus." ("E PLURIBUS UNUM")
The shield notably is characterized by a sharp outline around its perimeter unique to this type.
The condition overall is quite nice as the surface remains darkly oxidized and has never been cleaned.
