    Description

    This is a 1788 New Jersey colonial copper coin. You can read most of the date and I assume it to be horse facing right and it has a old hole through the shield and was made into a button at some time. There are other signs of wear and such as would be expected of a coin that was turned into a button. I am sure this piece has had a very interesting 233 year old life and could really tell a story. This is the first one of these I have had and it is offered at NO RESERVE from a estate I just received. Very cool piece for sure!
