    Description

Offered here at Auction is a 1787 dated New Jersey Copper Cent.  I attribute this coin as a Maris 39-A, with a W-5195 designation by Q. David Bowers in his Colonial and Early American Coins attribution guide book.  The legend "E Plurirus" makes for an easier attribution.  This coin has lightly granular surfaces, with moderate pitting in places.  The date is clearly visible easy to read.  I see some faint surface marks on the shield.  The date side seems Very Good in grade, while the shield side is more like Good in grade.  Check out the photos and bid it like you see it.   Q. David Bowers lists this coin a URS-6 in scarcity, or in his analysis 17-32 pieces known to exist.
