    Description

Offered here at Auction is a 1787 dated Connecticut Copper Cent.  I attribute this coin as a Miller 37.12-LL, with a W-4175 designation by Q. David Bowers in his Colonial and Early American Coins attribution guide book.  This coin is shows ""ET-IIB" instead of ET LIB in the legend.  The surfaces of this coin are lightly granular uniformly over the obverse and reverse.  Due to the planchet size, and the die placement, the date was not imprinted on this planchet.  The surfaces are lightly porous, not real deep into the metal.  The legends are pretty clear.  Overall, not a bad coin.  Q. David Bowers lists this coin a URS-6 in scarcity, or in his analysis 17-32 pieces known to exist.
