    Description

Offered here at Auction is a 1787 dated Connecticut Copper Cent.  I attribute this coin as a Miller 33.29-GG.1, with a W-3810 designation by Q. David Bowers in his Colonial and Early American Coins attribution guide book.  The legend shows "ET LIR" making an easier attribution.  This coin weighs light namely .150 ounces.  Most of the Connecticut coppers I have weigh about .325 ounces.  Perhaps this "coin" could have been made outside the governmental authority with "Private Hands?"  Q. David Bowers lists this coin a URS-7 in scarcity, or in his analysis 33-64 pieces known to exist if genuine.
