    Description

Offered here at Auction is a 1786 dated Connecticut Copper Cent.  I attribute this coin as a Miller 5.8-H.2, with a W-2625 designation by Q. David Bowers in his Colonial and Early American Coins attribution guide book.  This coin is just plain UGLY.  I note some rather heavy planchet flaws on the Portrait side.  The date side is heavily worn.  This is "only it's mother could love it" type coins.  If you collect varieties, you may still be interested.  Q. David Bowers lists this coin a URS-7 in scarcity, or in his analysis 33-64 pieces known to exist.
